Sangria Season

It’s Sangria Season!

If it’s warm outside and it’s a holiday, chances are good sangria will be gracing our table. We enjoy a number of varieties. But, this simple version of sangria ranks as one of our all-time favorites.

Black Raspberry Sangria

Blood Orange Punch

Normally, we’d save the cocktails for the weekends. But, a few successful home projects instigated the rare indulgence. This lovely sparkling soda creates an almost instant cocktail. It’s delicious straight, too. Just serve it icy cold with a wedge of orange for a virgin cocktail.

Hibiscus Cocktail

These hibiscus flowers in syrup will garnish tonight’s cocktails beautifully. We found these at a local Whole Foods. Hopefully, we’ll be able to find them again. Don’t you hate it when you find a unique ingredient, fall in love with it, and realize it’s never to be found again? Luckily, […]

Turmeric Masala Milk

Martha Stewart’s niece Sophie Herbert demonstrated the preparation of this milk on Friday’s episode. Very timely, considering both my husband and myself are getting over a cold and sore throat. This tea was the perfect remedy. It’s lovely and tasty, too!

(I’ve altered the recipe ever-so-slightly. The mace […]

What was my first impression of this drink? I thought it tasted a bit like a poorly made Manhattan. But, after I added a splash of Absinthe it was remarkably more interesting.

On previous Valentine’s Days, we’ve purchased many (many) cut roses only to watch them slowly die. This year, we decided to celebrate the occasion by purchasing rose bushes. With a little bit of luck, […]

Negroni

The negroni is a lovely cocktail that’s full of character. But, one ounce of Campari is incredibly powerful (bitter). So, I’ve taken it upon myself to adapt the recipe to my taste. Maybe I’m a wimp… or, maybe I’m just being a girl.

My Negroni

Hennessy Miami

Or, you could say this is a Hennessy mojito without the sparkling water. But, I guess Hennessy Miami sounds better. I like to finely slice the mint leaves. This works in lieu of muddling. This way if mint leaves sneak into my cocktail, they look far less abused.
